Getting there..!?


Made some nice progress on the GIS.  Did most of the building, only the runners on the bottom have to be attached. That I will do when the interior has been finished. There all the woodwork has been done, only some cleaning and painting to be done...

the sequence of the pictures did not work out: no relation with the real world, I think. Building a boat is easier than building an blog. But a blog is faster.

Here I am again: still working on the GIS, though progress is quite slow.
Situation:  hull completed (hull, bulkheads and bottom), most parts ready (mast, boom, yard, rudder, rudder blade, centreboard, centre board case), epoxied or glassed.

some progess

after some delay: progress has been made! At this moment I have:
- all parts ready (mast, boom, yard, centreboard, rudder, centreboard case)
- assembled the hull except for the bottom
- epoxied almost all parts
- ordered the sail and had it deliverered

Next stage


















The first pictures show the marking of the boom before the planing of the boom.
some more pictures! made some good progress this saturday.
and didnot forget my camera.

I finished the boom, yard (rounded, tapered, nice rounded top) and started with the transom and bulkhead framing.

Also made som "washers" for the temporary screws / fasteners during the glueing.
